Garden of the Keep
bg

It is an area surrounding the southeast wing of the historical complex. Characterized by a lawn and ornamental plants planted in the 20th century, it includes one Magnolia grandiflora specimen and five Tilia spp. specimens. This area, with access to the secondary tower and other rooms of the fortress, will maintain its purpose as a reception/representative space, and the interventions will focus on the landscape redevelopment of the trees and the screening of the area currently occupied by garbage collectors.

The garden is a representative area adorned with one Magnolia grandiflora and five Tilia spp. specimens, planted in the 20th century. This area, designed in a modern style, will continue to serve as a reception/representative space, and the interventions will involve landscape redevelopment of the trees and the screening of the waste collection area.

A pruning technique called "rimonda" will be carried out on the Magnolia to restore a balanced crown shape, and the Tilia trees will be pruned to remove dry or declining portions and improve their phytosanitary condition. To conceal the waste collection stations, the existing wooden panels will be reinstated to hide the currently visible containers. Conceptually related to this intervention is the replacement of the security door for accessing the "Maschio" terrace, along with protective measures for the small windows on the staircase leading to the terrace, aimed at preventing pigeons from building nests, as their presence can degrade the site's appearance and hygiene.
